Network Planning Engineer - Capacity Management – Position is based in Singapore


You will be a key team member of Verizon’s Asia Pacific Network Planning team and be responsible for setting up the trunks between voice switches across APAC regions. You will be responsible for the development of the SCIP interconnection design and planning to meet Verizon’s vision ie “Drive IP transformation” to migrate all TDM interconnect carriers to IP. You will be a part of the project team working on the future plan on IPX roadmap in SCIP architecture such as evaluate access option to carriers and other applicable services requiring high quality managed IP network.

Job Responsibilities
·         You will support the provisioning switches to U.S gateways and work closely with the Network planning team in the U.S
·         You will be responsible for PTT’s Capacity management and to forecast the Network Traffic
·         You will work with planning group to project manage the Retail VoIP or IP Trunking for Retail customers in the region
·         You will represent Verizon in the local carrier group and coordinate with any new carriers in the interface and testing phase
·         You will be responsible to rearrange, augment or remove/reuse capacity and/or network elements in line with appropriate standards to meet non-forecasted sales order requirements, etc.
·         You will review utilization of links between network elements, growth trends, and forecast data to determine when a relief job is required.
·         You will be the main point of contact for CS2K local switch based in the region and also provide onsite support.
·         You will be responsible for the SCIP trunk expansion whenever there’s requirement and work on SCIP interconnect with local carriers in the region and handle all interconnect agreement negotiation with the Asia Pacific carriers.
·         You will be a point of contact to issue a request to engage the local switch operations to perform the translation to open new level or re-route and also prepare monthly report to the Verizon regulatory Manager

Person Specification:
·         You should have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree
·         You should have minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in a Network Planning or Capacity Management role within IT / Telco or ICT MNC or related field / industry
·         You should exposure to Regulatory, SCIP interconnect and Telarix
·         Your previous experience working with PTTs is a major plus
·         Your experience with IP Telephony, IP Switch Engineering and Network Traffic Engineering is good to have
·         Your experience and technical knowledge on VoIP, TDM, Ethernet, etc.., is good to have
·         You should have good interpersonal skills and ability to work/learn as part of an international dispersed team
·         You must have experience working in a challenging and fast paced environment, must work well under sustained pressure, self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, can-do attitude, urgency and drive
·         You will need to display leadership capabilities and be able to take a lead in any project task to you.
·         You must be an individual who embraces ethics, integrity and professionalism.
