Lead Pre-Sales Consultant - Network Engineering – Permanent role @ Verizon Business, Singapore.

Job Responsibilities:

• The resource will provide presale technical support for Data, VoIP, and traditional Voice to our Premier Accounts. The resource is a strong technical sales resource and advocate for products and applications with a strong strategic partnership/consultative client orientation.
• Primary responsibility is to work closely with Sales to protect and grow revenue through strategic sales/account planning and solution selling.
• The resource would be considered a technical expert on major, complex RFP/RFI customer premises based opportunities.
• In addition, the resource will be looked to mentor and provide guidance to other sales engineers (Inside SE and Field SE) and AM/CAM positions on their team.
• Responsibilities include technical presentations, network design, proposal writing, pricing, quoting and client technical service management.
• The resource will work with vendor engineering/support and Verizon Business product marketing, customer service, operations, and subcontractors to develop and implement solutions for the assigned customer base.
• The selected candidate is required to have an in-depth working knowledge across multiple technical disciplines including IT/Data/Voice/Video applications, convergence technologies, IP-based technologies and Security strategies.
• Demonstrated expertise in premise-based equipment, security, managed services, convergence solutions (VoIP/IPT), integrated solutions, equipment hosting, MPLS/IP-VPN, LAN/WAN switching and routing, and traditional Voice services is needed.


• 7+ years in the telecommunications, information technology, and/or systems integration industries.
• 5+ years previous sales engineering or technical sales consulting.
• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related degree.
• Intermediate to advanced product (Cisco, Nortel, Avaya, Juniper, Microsoft, etc.) certifications.
• Excellent command of the English language (oral & written).

Additional Qualifications:

• The resource possesses and displays a comprehensive knowledge of Verizon product and service offerings within their respective discipline.
• The resource must also possess the technical knowledge to be cross-functional in additional disciplines and be able to assume the lead technical role or one of support.
• The technical knowledge of the resource in a discipline should include but not be limited to: Nortel and Fujitsu voice products, Cisco Nortel, Vtel, PictureTel, other data products, network service offerings such as Ethernet, MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, ISDN, Centrex, IP, Managed Solutions, long distance as well as all transport mediums.
• Should also include knowledge in all peripheral equipment.
• Nortel, Cisco, Microsoft and/or product/vendor certifications are required.
• Lastly, strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, email, database, Internet search) are a must.
• The candidate should demonstrate abilities in self- motivation, communication and teamwork.
• The resource must be skilled in English oral and written communications so as to work in customer consultative and problem solving situations with and in support of Sales.
• They must be able to design, propose and convey complex technical design information in response to customer need and in support of a strategic Verizon customer account plan.
• They must possess superior closing skills as they, in many cases, will serve as the technical closer on an account opportunity.
