Job Scope
This is
an individual contributor role responsible for solving complex problems and
taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. This role serves as a technical/functional
specialist and works independently with guidance only in the most complex
situations. This includes planning, design, evaluation, installation,
deployment, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for the data centres and
office facilities.
Technical Requirements
·
In-depth
hands-on experience with at least 2 of the following 3 Operating Systems:
o
AIX
6.1 or above
o
Red
Hat Enterprise
o
Solaris
10
·
In-depth
experience with at least one enterprise class virtualization technologies – IBM
LPAR, x86 VMware, or Solaris LDOM
·
Hardware
experience across the IBM Power System product lines, and corresponding
experience across x86 hardware deployments involving RHEL
·
Scripting
experience and understanding in both Windows and UNIX environments
·
Must
have experience in system monitoring techniques and tools supporting unattended
operations and daily storage-related SAN/NAS alerts and activities
·
Ability
to analyze, troubleshoot and solve issues with storage stack (Hosts, SAN
switches and Storage Devices)
·
Must
be willing to go on "On-call" support rotation
Professional Requirements
·
Typically
requires a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant working experience
·
Broad
knowledge in hardware, software, and applications deployments
·
Experience
in an application hosting or data centre environment
·
Strong
process orientation and a solid understanding of software development and
testing techniques, methodologies and best practices are the primary requisite
for this position
·
Strong
project management skills
·
ITIL
certification preferred
