One of the key initiatives for Global Markets & Research Technology team is “Build Architect” which is a far-reaching project to improve the productivity and effectiveness of developers across the entire organization (over 5,000 people).
This role will touch on all the areas that the team is working on. Through working with other build teams, applicants will be exposed to the many different technologies that are used across the organization.

Essential Skills
· 5+ years engineering experience providing full project, design, build and administration support.
· Must have ability to provide development and testing support.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, management and other technical associates in a diverse global environment.
· Knowledge of Python and Shell programming
· Experience with Windows and Linux system administration
· Knowledge of CI engines (Hudson or Jenkins, Team City)
· Knowledge of source control systems (Subversion, CVS, Git, Mercurial) and branching strategies
· Web Development experience: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
Desired Skills
· Project management skills
· Knowledge of Perl or Ruby programming
· Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
· VMWare / Virtualization / Cloud experience desirable
· Knowledge of ANT, Maven
· Experience working with at least 2 of Java, C#, C++/C, and also SQL.
· Some exposure to Web Portals, Liferay a plus
· Familiar with DevOps
Responsibilities include:
· Defining a application deployment standard for our standardized hardware platform
· Development and deployment of stand-alone developer tools such as languages, compilers, libraries, and services.
· Development, deployment, and operation of shared developer tools such as source code management, ticket tracking, code review, testing, and code analysis.
· Development of key common libraries such as configuration, logging, and monitoring.
· Integration of build configuration, deployment configuration, and run-time application monitoring to create a comprehensive picture of the application and service landscape
· Improvement and oversight of application lifecycle
· The Technology Portal to bring all these pieces together and make information and tools easier to find, use, build, and maintain.
